Let's talk about the women who built Flora, and why they created the first personally owned fertility insurance from the ground up...

Christy has spent decades at the front of women’s health. She co-founded the Stanford Wearable Health Lab, built and sold her own insurtech company, and has spent her career figuring out how data and technology can make healthcare work better for women. She’s a professor, a scientist, and a global leader in health innovation.
She’s also a mom of three, and two of her children were born through IVF. For all her expertise, all the research and the labs and the years spent studying women’s bodies and health systems, she still ended up in the same chair so many women sit in. Facing the emotional and financial weight of fertility treatment without nearly enough support. That’s the reason she started Flora.

Laura didn’t go through fertility challenges herself, but she watched a close family member carry the emotional and financial toll. She saw the appointments, the heartbreak, the bills, and the isolation that so often comes with a fertility journey. And she thought, this isn’t good enough. Women deserve better.
Laura brings decades of experience in finance, insurance, and building companies for women. She also has three young adult daughters who give her a daily view into how their generation thinks about health, money, career, and dating, all of which tie back to fertility. She came to Flora from a different personal experience, and the same deep conviction.
