Welcome to our team spotlight series, where we introduce the people behind FLORA. Building a first-of-its-kind fertility insurance product takes a group of humans who care deeply about the work, and we want you to meet them.

In each post, a team member shares what they do here, why this mission matters to them, and a little about who they are outside of work. Expect real answers, a few fun surprises, and a closer look at the faces making proactive family planning possible.

Meet the person behind the work below.

Your current role at FLORA, plus what you'd call your job if titles didn't exist How long have you been at FLORA?

Sales Enablement | Dancing Bear

How long have you been at FLORA?

6mo

In a sentence or two, what do you do day to day?

Connect a series of dots for sales targets and prospects to get them access and through the purchasing process.

What pulled you toward FLORA, or toward the fertility and women's health space in general?

Nativity into the difficulty of most family planning. We waited until our mid & late 30s for our (2) Boys: 12 & 9. And never endured hardship; we were very fortunate. Didn't realize it until I looked around quickly - A cousin & wife's best friend lost children, years of infertility, 5+ rounds of IVF, and surrogacy.

Moreover, I had the fortune to meet, advocate for, and work alongside building the Health vertical at Sparta Software Corp for 5+ years, from 2019-2024 after she exited Vivametrica.

What was your very first job?

Very first job - 13 yrs old - started a neighborhood lawn service that grew to 25+ lawns and sold the rights to other neighborhood kids at 18 when I left for college.

What did you want to be when you were a kid?

A D1 (top tier in US) Collegiate Football Coach

How do you spend your time outside of work? What fills your time?

I keep my circle and activities small: 1) Best friend to my wife, 2) be available and active in my boys lives, 3) daily exercise for myself, my boxer dogs, and household improvement projects.

What's something people would be surprised to learn about you?

I was 2.5 months premature (<2lbs at birth); Went through complex speech disfluency and stuttering classes 2x p/wk from PK - 12th grade. Didn't break it age 22-30 and coaching athletes from youth to NFL/Pros.

Surprising - Yes, I led coaches/systems for developing Youth, HS, Collegiate, and Pros on Speed & Sports Performance training across 6+ locations in Houston and Dallas with Memorial Hermann Health System and Texas Health Resources.

Your most useless talent or your weirdest habit. Own it.

From 2010-2018 - I could predict w/in 2-4mi markers on I-35 (to/from Houston & Dallas) where you were once you told me what time/day; 97% accuracy rate.

Pick one and answer: coffee order, comfort meal, or the song that gets you going.

Coffee: Largest (and multiple) Iced Black or Cold Brew w/ creatine - nothing else

A book, show, or podcast you push on everyone you meet.

Book - Simon Sinek, the Infinite Game | Show - 1883 by Taylor Sheridan

What's something on your bucket list you still need to cross off?

Travel outside North America
